We know local because we are local so when you book a tour with us, you are getting a one-of-a-kind experience that can’t be replicated.
If you want to experience Vegas in a more genuine way while avoiding tourist traps, then we’ve got you. We are also here to answer any questions and get you set up for having the best trip of your life. From where to go, what to eat, and even what to wear – we’ve got the best tips and tricks for making your Vegas experience the best it can be.
One of the biggest questions guests ask is, “What should I wear on a Las Vegas food tour?” It really comes down to two things: your personal style and comfort.
While many people think of packing clubbing dresses or suits for their Vegas outfits, you might want to rethink the heels on a walking tour. Luckily, as the people who walk the tours with you, we know what it takes to be comfortable. No matter what season it is or what you plan on doing later in the day, we want to make sure you are set up for a day of fun, food, and comfy fashion. Keep reading to learn what Vegas outfits are the best to wear on a food tour!
When on a walking food tour, being comfortable is key. With Taste Buzz Las Vegas, we normally walk between 1.5 to 2 miles – so it might not be the best time to break in a new pair of shoes. We suggest wearing comfortable shoes like a pair of trusted sneakers or sturdy sandals. Just remember that in the summer, the sun can be pretty bright so if you wear sandals, you’ll want to spray the tops of your feet with some sunscreen.
Another important thing to remember is that you will be walking, sitting, and standing throughout the day. We normally like to wear a Vegas outfit that has a little give to it so we can be comfortable filling up on great food while sitting down. The nice part about this is that we take you to local spots where people are coming in from work, play, and everything in between. So, it is okay to dress pretty casually if it makes you feel more comfortable!
Another thing to think about is how comfortable you feel walking around for a couple of blocks. Our tours are mostly under 2 miles and we take breaks to eat and sight size during that time. Still, some people feel more comfortable bringing something to help them get around. One of our employee’s dads is 75 and has been on food tours all around the world. His pro tip is to bring along a cane or trekking poles for a little extra support if you are worried you might get tired.
Las Vegas weather is often misunderstood. People think it is hot and sunny all year round and while we wish that was true, Las Vegas has seasons too! It is really helpful to check the weather before packing or getting ready for Las Vegas.
In the winter it can get pretty chilly and in the summer it can be over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Most of the restaurants will either be heated or have the air conditioning on depending on the season. Since our tours take place both indoors and outdoors, you will want to be able to comfortably move from one temperature to another. For this, we suggest bringing light layers you can add or take off depending on the place.
That said, winter can get pretty cold and even windy. We always suggest checking the weather beforehand and dressing accordingly to how well you handle the cold. Some guests have even worn heavier winter coats if they weren’t used to the cold. Another tip about windy days is if you still want to wear a flowy dress, you might feel more comfortable wearing shorts underneath it.
If you are coming in the summer, you already know it is going to get hot. Wearing clothes that breathe and don’t stick to your body is a smart move to keep comfortable and cool. Sunscreen is also a must in the summer to protect your skin. Another local tip is to wear patterns instead of solid colors. Sometimes a solid-colored teeshirt can show sweat more easily than one with a design on it.
If you are going to do a few activities in the day, you will want to have a comfortable outfit that will work for all of them. One thing Vegas foodies normally love doing after our tours is heading to one of the resort pools for a fun cocktail or mocktail. If part of your plan is to relax by the water, just make sure you pick a bathing suit that is comfortable to wear under your clothes and walk around in. Or, pack your suit away in a tote bag or backpack so you can change into it before you head to the pool.
On the other hand, if you were going to go out dancing after, you might want to check the dress code of the place. Some spots have a strict “no flip-flop” rule so you would want to pick a different type of shoe to wear on the tour. Same with renting either a motorcycle or ATV. Most places will require you to wear closed-toe shoes for safety reasons.
Luckily, there are a bunch of comfortable shoes and outfits that can be dressed up or dressed down with how you accessorize. Another great reason to wear layers for your Vegas outfit!
If your kids are joining you, they are going to have a great time exploring with us and tasting their way through Vegas! If you have really little ones that need a stroller, our tours are handicap and stroller accessible.
Just let us know ahead of time so we can make sure we have everything planned out for you. The best way to do this is to write it in the notes section of the reservation. Food tours are a great way to experience a new city – especially if you take one with a local company! You get to see all the sights plus you get the inside scoop on places that are a little more hidden. To get the most out of your food tour, remember to dress comfortably and for the right season. That way you can focus on eating great food and having a whole lot of fun.
Another tip is to bring a great attitude! We love sharing our city with people and the more questions you ask about our hometown, the more we get to show it off!
We would love for you to join us on a walking food tour in Las Vegas! We have a few different options depending on what kind of foodie experience you are looking for.
