I don’t know who keeps track of the official “wonders of the world,” but the Las Vegas Sphere really needs to be added to that list.
Now that the Empire State Building has jumped the shark for sports celebrations using lights (it should have them taken away forever after being lit up in Eagles and Patriots colors), the Las Vegas Sphere is here to step in and take it to a whole new, never-before-seen level.
Case in point: check out how the Sphere celebrated the Texas Rangers finally winning the World Series for the first time after a 61-year drought.
Congratulations to the Texas Rangers on their World Series win! pic.twitter.com/3ytn8uGi8V

How epic is that? Now they totally have to do that every time a major sports champion is crowned.
Fans are absolutely loving it.
“There have been 119 World Series champions but only one has been honored by the mighty Sphere,” read one comment.
Formal request to erect a Sphere in *every major US city*!
This thing is INCREDIBLE!!!!
Congrats to the Texas Rangers , of course!

“I’ve done a complete about face on the weird sphere thing, I’m obsessed with it,” read another comment.
“All hail the orb,” someone else wrote.
what are the odds there are comments complaining that a soon to be AL West city is congratulating a division rival? https://t.co/foUf2oYJuZ

Ummm… they would be VERY, VERY HIGH.
This city is slated to get an AL West team in two seasons and they’re hyping up Texas?

There’s one in every bunch.
And, for those unfamiliar with our new Sphere overlord, it cost $2.3 billion, is 516 feet wide, 366 feet tall, has 580,000 square feet of programmable LEDs made up of 1.2 million LED pucks that display images in 18K, has 164,000 surround-sound speakers, and has a current seating capacity of 18,600.
It is located in Paradise, Nevada, United States, east of the Las Vegas Strip, and is presently the home of U2, who is performing a residency titled “U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere.”
What acts will perform there next are anyone’s guess, but Harry Styles has reportedly already received a formal invitation.
Now if they can only do something about that little vandalism problem they have been having, thanks to the upcoming F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix.
