Suspect charged in death of woman found in Las Vegas Strip hotel room


Monday, Feb. 5, 2024 | 6:44 p.m. Metro Police on Sunday arrested and booked a suspect in the death of a woman whose body was found at a Las Vegas Strip hotel last week, according to a news release. Dandre Owens, 29, was identified as a suspect in the case. He was taken into custody Sunday and booked at Clark County Detention Center. Officers initially responded to a resort in the 3700 block of South Las Vegas Boulevardm regarding a welfare check request on Jan. 29. Responders found an unconscious woman in a room with an apparent gunshot wound. She was declared dead at the scene. Owens faces multiple felony charges, including open murder with a deadly weapon, carry conceal weapon without a permit and own or possess gun by a prohibited person. The identification of the victim as well as the cause and manner of death will be released by Clark County Coroner’s Office.
