Rhumbar Tropical Ultra Lounge Closes at Mirage | Vital Vegas

Rhumbar Tropical Ultra Lounge Closes at Mirage A popular lounge at Mirage, Rhumbar Tropical Ultra Lounge, has closed. We called Mirage, and a rep confirmed the venue has closed. The venue also shows as “permanently closed” in the Googles. It appears Rhumbar may be a casualty of the ramping up of Mirage’s rebrand to Hard Rock Las Vegas. It was also announced “Love” will close at Mirage. The show’s final performance is July 7, 2024. The indoor-outdoor Rhumbar has been through a lot. At one time, the plan was to replace Rhumbar with a Bruno Mars concept, but that was nixed due to the purchase of Mirage by the Seminoles (Hard Rock). Mars’ lounge ended up at Bellagio. No, we haven’t visited Pinky Ring at Bellagio. Any place with a “no photos or video” rule is dead to us. Fun fact: Mirage built Bruno Mars a secret, $500,000 staircase into Rhumbar the singer never got to use. Rhumbar got a refresh in 2022, reopening as the sexier Rhumbar Tropical Ultra Lounge. Wow, they did an amazing job with Rhumbar @TheMirageLV. pic.twitter.com/nf0KxnFDIp — Vital Vegas (@VitalVegas) June 14, 2022 We never got the “ultra lounge” thing, but the monkey bread was life-changing. Behold the best thing to have ever existed, excluding boobs: Cheesy monkey bread at Rhumbar. @TheMirageLV pic.twitter.com/77mVtwqnIX — Vital Vegas (@VitalVegas) June 23, 2023 Slushy fans can breathe a sign of relief, as Mirage’s Web site still shows Rhumbar Frozen Bar continues to operate. For now. This is usually the part of our story where we say no information is available about what will replace Rhumbar. In this case, it’s unlikely to be anything prior to the rebrand to Hard Rock Las Vegas. The resort’s massive overhaul will take several years, and it’s unclear what, if any, parts of the resort can stay open during construction (including the erection of a guitar-shaped hotel tower where the Mirage volcano now sits). Hard Rock Las Vegas will make its official debut in late 2027 or early 2028. On the bright side, some of the changes at Mirage have been very positive, like the closure of its dolphin and big cat attractions. All the animals have been shipped off to sanctuaries. Big thanks to Mark K. on Twitter for the Rhumbar closure tip. Please, Mirage, make that monkey bread available in another restaurant. We give so much and ask for so little. Update (4/22/24): We heard from a Mirage executive who says Rhumbar may not be done for good. Stay tuned.
