Off The Post: Jonathan Marchessault Hockey Cards, Vegas Golden Knights – Jonathan Marchessault took the long road to live out his dream of playing in the National Hockey League, as he went undrafted in the 2011 NHL Draft. However, it didn’t take too long for a team to notice his potential, as he was signed by the Columbus Blue Jackets following the 2011-12 season.
The 5-foot-9, 183-pound Marchessault went from Columbus to Tampa Bay, and ended up in Florida where he showcased his full potential and had a breakout year during the 2016-17 season. He scored 30 goals and dished out 21 assists (51 points) in 75 games for the Panthers. And, that’s when everything changed for Marchessault.
Following his career-year, the expansion Vegas Golden Knights came into play. Surprisingly, Marchessault was exposed to the draft by the Panthers and the Golden Knights selected him. One of the originals of the Golden Knights’ franchise, Marchessault experienced it all during his six seasons in Vegas and has been one of the team’s most productive and reliable players.
The 32-year-old Marchessault was one of the main reasons why the Golden Knights hoisted the Stanley Cup on Tuesday night (June 13th), as he amassed 13 goals and 12 assists (25 points) during the NHL Playoffs. For his efforts, he was named the winner of the Conn Smythe Trophy.
In this audio clip, captured by our own Russ Cohen, Marchessault talked to the media after the Golden Knights’ Game 2 win over the Panthers. Marchessault scored 2 goals and added an assist in 7 – 2 win – a win that helped guide Vegas to its first Stanley Cup victory.
Marchessault’s official NHL rookie cards can be found in 2013-14 Panini and Upper Deck hockey card products. In addition to his rookie cards, Marchessault also has some minor league cards starting during the 2010-11 season.
Unfortunately, Marchessault doesn’t have a Young Guns rookie card like a lot of the top players, but there are some awesome rookie cards to explore. A few of his better rookie cards are his 2013-14 Panini Prizm Autographed Card, 2013-14 Crown Royale Rookie Royalty Autographed Card, and 2013-14 Panini Contenders Autographed Card.
For those interested in Marchessault’s cards, there are a variety at varying prices on the secondary market.
