As part of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2‘s ongoing marketing campaign, the recently released PlayStation title has taken over what is arguably one of the world’s most immersive advertising spaces, the Las Vegas Sphere.
The advertisement, which can be seen in the tweet below, comes a matter of hours after Microsoft purchased advertising space on the Sphere for Xbox. Although Xbox’s ad wasn’t marketing a specific title, it did come shortly after Microsoft announced its $69 billion acquisition of Activision-Blizzard, the biggest acquisition in gaming history as of 2023.
As for PlayStation, the publisher has just released one of the biggest games of the year in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Developed by Insomniac Games, Spider-Man 2 takes place 10 months after the events of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and sees Peter Parker and Miles Morales team up to take on a plethora of villans, such as Venom, Kraven The Hunter, Sandman, and more.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 received incredibly high praise from critics, sitting at an impressive Metacritic score of 91. Many reviewers praised Spider-Man 2 as “the greatest superhero game ever made” (via COGConnected), whilst others said it is “the pinnacle of open-world action games” (via Gfinity).
PlayStation’s impressive advertisement on the Las Vegas Sphere wasn’t the only jaw-dropping advert for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 either. Earlier this week, fans in Sydney were treated to a truck that appeared to be covered in webs after a staged accident. If the truck being suspended by webs wasn’t enough, PlayStation also had two actors portraying NPC police officers too.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is available now on PlayStation 5. If you’re just starting out in this epic sequel, make sure you check out more of our Spider-Man 2 coverage for guides, walkthroughs, and much more.
