The Las Vegas Aces make franchise history with their hot start, Tom Brady comes clean on his desire to be the Raiders quarterback, and Kyle Busch steals the show at Gateway. All this and more last week in Las Vegas sports (May 29 – June 4).

KyleBusch nabbed his third win of the 2023 season Sunday evening after holding off the field on five separate restarts. While Kyle Larson, Ryan Blaney, and Denny Hamlin tried to play spoiler, no one could catch Rowdy. The Las Vegas native just had an unbeatable advantage on the outside during restarts, and he took off.

The victory adds to Busch’s points total for the playoffs and is another great chapter in Busch’s legacy with Richard Childress Racing. After the race, Busch did a nice burnout along the front stretch of the track before coming to collect the flag from the stands.

#4 Las Vegas Aces start the season 5-0 for the first time in franchise history

There are super teams in the WNBA, and then there are the Las Vegas Aces. The organization has parlayed its first couple of victories into a straight-on five-game winning streak. That is a franchise record and a very good look for a team hoping to repeat as WNBA Champions.

After two victories against the Sparks, they moved on to a 94-73 win against the Minnesota Lynx. Once the Lynx got taken care of, the Atlanta Dream became their next victim in a 92-87 victory. Finally, the Aces defeated the Indiana Fever 84-80 to secure their new record. It will be tough to beat them after this; slowing them down might be a problem too.

#3 Tom Brady comes clean about his future with the Las Vegas Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders need good news after the revelation of Jimmy Garoppolo’s surgery, which is why Tom Brady is such an appealing option. It would give the Raiders a veteran with Super Bowl experience.

However, as great as a Tom Brady return would be for the Raiders, the six-time Super Bowl Champion seems to have no interest. He made it clear during an interview with Sports Illustrated where he flat-out said he was done playing. That puts the pressure back on Garoppollo or Brian Hoyer to try to save the season.

“I’m certain I’m not playing again, so I’ve tried to make that clear and I hate to continue to profess that, cause I’ve already told people that lots of times,” Brady explained.

#2 Las Vegas Golden Knights take a 1-0 lead against the Florida Panthers

The Las Vegas Golden Knights have reached the Stanley Cup Finals, and only the Florida Panthers stand in their way of winning a title. They took another step towards that Saturday evening by defeating the Panthers in the series’ first game. The two teams matched each other point for point in the first two periods of the game, but then the Golden Knights took over. They managed three goals in the final period to put the game out of reach. Zach Whitecloud, Reily Smith, John Marchessault, Shea Theodore and Mark Stone all knocked one in

Goaltender Adin Hill only let two goals get past him the entire game. He also didn’t allow a single shot in during the game’s final period, allowing the Golden Knights to pile on the points. The Golden Knights now have a 1-0 series lead over the Panthers.

#1 Josh McDaniels comments on Jimmy Garoppolo’s injury.

The Las Vegas Raiders are in the middle of another rebuild and have bet a good share of their fortune on Jimmy Garoppollo. Unfortunately for a playoff run and maybe a championship, the young Quarterback might be damaged goods. That’s not good for Josh McDaniels and his hopes to keep his job.

It has been reported that Garoppollo underwent leg surgery just days after signing his contract with the Raiders. This is supposed the reason why Garoppollo’s press conference got delayed and why he might not be available. Weirdly enough, Head Coach, Josh McDaniels has no concern.

“I have no anxiety,” McDaniels said in the press conference, per the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “You guys may have anxiety. I have no anxiety. I’m not going to put a timeline or a day on anything… I have very good information that tells me that we’re going to be fine.”
