Las Vegas Sphere displays customised Super Bowl content

The Las Vegas Sphere will display custom-made content throughout Super Bowl LVIII week. The tie-up between Sphere Entertainment and the NFL will see content created by Sphere Studios displayed on the Sphere’s LED exterior, the Exosphere, in the build up to the match on 11 February. The content will include a countdown clock leading up to kick-off; a welcome visual that will serve as a beacon for the hundreds of thousands of people expected to descend on Las Vegas; and key graphics highlighting the match-up between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. The Exosphere will also display customised commissions from street artists, all 57 commemorative Super Bowl rings and adverts from some of the world’s largest brands. During the game, the Exosphere will display real-time content in response to the on-field action. CBS Sports’ broadcast of the Super Bowl LVII will showcase the Exosphere and the interior of the Sphere in videos filmed at the venue. Guy Barnett, Sphere Entertainment’s senior vice-president for brand strategy and creative development, said: “The Super Bowl and Sphere are two globally recognised brands, and together will showcase the power of this unparalleled digital canvas to bring fans together around Super Bowl LVIII.” The Exosphere is the largest LED screen on Earth, comprising about 1.2 million LED pucks spaced 8″ apart. Each puck contains 48 individual LED diodes that display 256 million colours.
