The Sphere: A $2.3 Billion Marvel

The Sphere, situated near the Las Vegas Strip and east of the Venetian resort, was announced by the Madison Square Garden Company in 2018. It made its debut with U2’s performance on September 29th. The visual extravaganza included mega-sized videos of Elvis Presley merged with scenes of old Las Vegas and close-ups of U2 floating in bubbles during ‘Even Better Than the Real Thing.

Bono, U2’s frontman, paid homage to some of the notable audience members during the show. He dedicated ‘Desire’ to Paul McCartney and affectionately teased, “Just know that we love you and we’ve stolen a lot of your songs.” The late Jimmy Buffet also received a touching tribute with a rendition of ‘Love Rescue Me.’

Even for those in the less exclusive seats, the show exceeded all expectations. One fan humorously noted, “The only concert where the nose-bleed seats are the best.” With plans for around 25 more shows, tickets range from $400 to $1,450 for those seeking to immerse themselves in this unforgettable experience.
