Amanda Godsell This wasn’t our first trip to Vegas so we knew what to expect downtown. The Nugget was clean, affordable, and well maintained. We stayed in the Carson Tower and didn’t have any issues with noise from the street. Checkin was kind if a nightmare, though. There is ALWAYS a long line to check in and there are no digital options to avoid the desk. We spent 45 minutes just waiting in line to check in. I will say the staff was all very kind and efficient. There just didn’t seem to be enough space for the number of people wanting to check in. There are security guards that scan your room key before you can get to the elevator banks for each tower. The gentleman at our tower literally had his head leaned back against the wall, and his eyes closed. When we walked up, he said nothing even after we spoke first. He just pointed to the scanner. Seems like on a Friday night, security might be a little more efficient if their head was in the game. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would return again. Location can’t be beat, and parking was super easy. Sue C We’ve stayed at the Nugget several times during our annual trips to Vegas. The staff is great and accommodating. That said, the reservations system leaves much to be desired. We requested five rooms on the same floor, with two adjoining, months in advance. There was no indication that might be a problem, other than saying adjoining rooms weren’t guaranteed, but every effort would be made. When we checked in, we were told none of that was possible. No one called to ask about alternative room configuration or towers. In addition, my roommate’s credit card was charged instead of mine, despite going to the desk during her checkout to confirm my CC number. After departure, when charges appeared on the wrong card, I called three times, on three different days. When I mentioned on the third call that I had left two messages with no result, the reservations person said she’d try to reach someone at the hotel. That was also unsuccessful. The on site staff is working hard to make guests happy, but it seems the reservations and accounting staff really can’t be bothered with customer service.I’ll be exploring other options next year. Dulce Borboa Service is great, always attentive and nice. Rooms are pretty standard and clean, no fridges in the Carson tower. Plenty of water bottles and I have heard room service will bring you more if you ask.The check in was pretty crowded when we arrived, but we were moved to another desk down the way to alleviate the traffic, that was pretty nice. The rep that helped us at the front desk was having a birthday, and enthusiastically gave us suggestions on the strip for our kiddo. Overall loved the service, rooms were standard. 8/10 would stay again.Rooms: Rooms are pretty standard. Shower pressure is good in the Carson tower, no smoke smell on the non smoking floors. AC is great and you can turn on the fan only if you want.Safety: The outside of the hotel and parking structure were pretty clear. We had a tall truck so we had to park in the overflow, if you’re 7’1 and up you’re not going to fit in the parking structure. Luckily the parking lot is the catty-cornered to the hotel.Walkability: Not bad for the Fremont Experience, you’re right there and can exit through the casino to Fremont. Calvin Gibson Had a good experience at the Golden Nugget after not staying there for a few years. Check-in went well, and the room we stayed in was nice for the price, relatively speaking. We would like to do another staycation there in the future, if they offer us a good enough deal on a room. Not sure if they’re that interested in attracting locals these days. The gaming floor has a number of options and there were a fair amount of cocktail waitresses coming around. There are a few new restaurants since we were there last, and they seem to have a nice variety of food choices now. Overall, the Nugget seems to be “back on track.” Jed Nordine It’s our first night staying at The Golden Nugget Casino and hotel and we were very excited. All was ruined from the moment we tried to check-in. After patiently waiting through the check-in process we headed to our room to get ready for a reservation that we had been looking forward to for forever. We opened our door and were welcomed by a very unpleasant guest that was already staying in there. We immediately shut the door before things could escalate and walk back down to the hotel lobby. There we waited again(longer than round one) to correct the situation. I thought with this screw up they could give an upgrade to help with our frustration. Instead, they took off some resort fees. Although they compensated us a little. This compensation will not impact our experience or help with the loss of time. For this I thought there was something more or different they could have done for putting a guest in danger with another guest. Hopefully/Maybe they will make up for the frustration on our remaining days here. Rafael Obusan Best place to stay if you want to experience Las Vegas during the night. Fremont St. Experience was unlike anything else I’ve seen before and it is just beside the hotel. The rooms were big enormous and service were awesome. Everything you need is at N arms reach. The security is strict, you need a valid room rfid if you’re going to access the elevator going up.Rooms: The rooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable.Nearby activities: Just beside Fremont St. Experience.Safety: Security checks the room rfid cards for validity before accessing the elevator.Food & drinks: Plenty of choices for food and drinks. There’s a Chick Fil A, Starbucks, 2 sports bar, and a fine dining restaurant inside the hotel. And plenty more choices just outside in the other hotels/casinos nearby. Dillard Spray Karolena Logan Golden Nugget has great food. Their Claim Jumpers restaurant is always amazing. Unfortunately we didn’t get the room with the king bed as I reserved. It also took almost an hour to check in and they only had 2 people helping at first. Other than that, isn’t too bad.Food & drinks: CJ’s restaurant is AMAZING! ed da It’s neighter the most luxurious nor the most modern hotel. True. BUT if you are looking for the classical Las Vegas feeling this is one of the best. It offers a lot of flair, a very nice pool area with a water slide through the famous shark tank and a very reasonable pricing.I really like the location. You’re right in the dazzling centre of the crazy Fremont Street and Downtown. But you are also only a few minutes away from the amazing Arts District with it’s great places for culture, restaurants, bars and stores. Bus (DEUCE) for the Strip is right nearby, too.
