SUNRISE, Fla. — Left wing Carter Verhaeghe scored in overtime, and the Florida Panthers defeated the Golden Knights 3-2 in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final on Thursday at FLA Live Arena.
The Panthers cut their series deficit to 2-1 with a comeback win. Right wing Matthew Tkachuk tied the game with 2:13 left in the third period and goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky out of the net. It was Florida’s first-ever win in the final in seven tries.
Captain Mark Stone and right wing Jonathan Marchessault scored power-play goals for the Knights, who fell to 3-2 in overtime this postseason. Florida improved to 7-0.
