Dates are set for U2 shows at the Sphere in Las Vegas

Dates have been announced for a series of U2 concerts at the Sphere at the Venetian this fall. “UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere” marks the first live performances in four years for the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers.

Shows begin on Sept. 29 and run through Oct. 25.
Tickets start at $140 (which includes
taxes and fees) and are on sale now.

About 60% of tickets will be less than $300, and there will also be a
limited number of premium priced tickets per show, according to a news
release announcing the show dates.

Fifty seats at each
performance will be in an exclusive VIP riser made available for
purchase benefiting (RED), the organization founded by Bono and Bobby
Shriver in 2006 to fight AIDS, among other causes.

Sphere’s technologies include a massive LED display that wraps up, over and around the audience to create a more immersive environment. The $2.1 billion venue, which seats about 18,500 (20,000 with standing room), also boasts an advanced concert audio system and multisensory 4-D technologies.

Vibee, a new music-led destination experience company founded by Live Nation, will be the exclusive hotel package and VIP experience provider for the production. Packages include premium concert seating, rooms at the Venetian Resort Las Vegas, priority entry, access to an art installation and pop-up shop at the Venetian, limited-edition U2 memorabilia, nightclub access and concierge service.

Citi Cardmembers have special access to Vibee VIP & Hotel Packages through May 3.

‘Postcard from Earth’

Sphere Experiences, another of the facility’s core content categories, will debut in October with an immersive film, “Postcard from Earth,” which producers are calling “a unique perspective on the magnificent beauty of life on Earth.”

“Sphere Experiences are just one of the ways we will use the venue’s technologies to engage the senses and transport audiences to places both real and imagined,” said James L. Dolan, executive chairman and CEO of MSG Entertainment. “‘Postcard from Earth’ will set a new bar for multisensory storytelling possibilities.”

Sphere Experiences, collaborations between Sphere’s in-house studio and other storytellers, are original immersive productions designed exclusively for Sphere.

Each Sphere Experience will be about 60 minutes, and productions will run several times per day. Tickets are generally priced from $49 to $129 (plus tax and fees), depending on the day and time.
