Beyoncé Tipped As Next Residency For Sphere In Las Vegas Beyoncé could be the next artist to take on a residency at the groundbreaking Sphere venue in Las Vegas. According to the New York Post , Queen Bey is in talks with owner James Dolan to take over from U2 after they end their run of sold-out concerts in late February. Both her mom/manager, Tina Knowles, and her husband, Jay-Z, have toured the facility, which cost $2.3 billion to construct. The Post reports that in order to land the singer, they will have to meet the same $10 million asking price U2 were given to put on their customized show. Other names being bandied about include Bon Jovi, Paul McCartney and Lady Gaga, however, Dolan is said to be very cautious about the artists he brings in after Sphere lost $98.4 million in its third quarter this year. Tickets for the shows are reportedly not a major source of revenue, because the artist’s guarantee is so much. Instead, most of the money is made from suite sales and advertising on the massive LED screen wrapped around the building. Meanwhile, Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé is set to hit theatres on December 1, which may or may not help secure the residency.
