UPDATE: Suspect in custody after standoff
#BREAKING 2:46 p.m.: SWAT made entry into the hotel room and has taken the subject into custody. The female who was also in the room is safe and with officers. There will be a large police presence with vehicles as this investigation continues and units disperse.

LAS VEGAS – A standoff situation was unfolding on the Las Vegas Strip Tuesday involving an barricaded suspect in a hotel while claiming to be armed.
At approximately 9:15 a.m. local time, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police received a report regarding a domestic disturbance at Caesars Palace hotel. LVMPD officers promptly arrived at the scene and attempted to engage with the occupants of the hotel room. However, a man inside the room declined to cooperate, refusing to unlock the door and asserting that he possessed a weapon.

A guest visiting Caesars Palace from Appleton, Wisconsin shared this video with Channel 13 showing the pool area being evacuated. She said it also looked like a window had been knocked out.

Authorities have dispatched SWAT teams and crisis negotiators to the location. No injuries have been reported thus far.
“We are aware of the security incident at Caesars Palace,” the hotel said in a statement. “Our team is cooperating fully with law enforcement officers on-scene who are handling the investigation. We refer you to the Las Vegas Metro Police Department for more information.”
